New Studio Being Built
New Studio in Progress
The contractor said he is going to start this coming week! Can’t wait to get settled into my new digs. Hopefully, everything will be organized and neat. Wonder how long it will take to get the studio to feell like home? Artists can be finicky when it comes to arrangement of their good stuff!
I have a beautiful library table that will find its new home in my studio! Now I just have to think about getting my easels set up, shelving built, and a storage closet designed as well. It will be a pleasure to have a sink at my disposal rather than running back into the main part of the house. Oh, the possibilities are endless. Floor samples are sitting in the unfinished space and it is time for me to pick out which one I want. Decisions, decisions abound.

Katie Gronsbell creates artwork depicting places she has visited around the world. The sounds, smells and images of each locale are represented in the intriguing pastel paintings, as well as the charcoal and pencil drawings that she produces.

The journey begins with models in studio settings and continues with representations of a variety of people from places near and far. One can notice the application of value, color, and temperature that she uses in her paintings to whisk the viewer away to another location in the world.
