Reflections in Amsterdam

Walking along the canals on a cold November morning I saw this scene!  I can still feel the chill in air when viewing this painting!

Waterfall in Nova Scotia

We went on a 12 day trek along the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia, Canada! Along the way we celebrated my birthday. It was a perfect trip. We walked in the Bay of Fundy while the tide was out. Hiking in the woods we were excited by our  luck at seeing a moose cow with her calf. Days later  I spotted this waterfallI and can still hear the water rushing when I view this painting.

Forsythia By the Fence

The neatly hung shovels graced the fence where the forsythia was blooming! The Stonehedge House had so many wonderful places to paint and this one was irresistible to me.

Camellias in Bloom

This painting was done  at The Tannery Row Plein Air Festival, April 15th and 16th, 2011. The beautiful camellias against The Stonehedge House called me to render the painting that you see.

Tina

Tina modeled for a group of us one day. I wanted to do a charcoal drawing to capture the starkness of her in all white! Concentrating on producing the folds in her shawl and jeans elicited the flowing image in this drawing.

Iman in Thought

Iman is one of the models who comes to The Atlanta Artists’ Center on Thursdays.

She is a beautiful young lady and I tried to capture that beauty in charcoal. This drawing was part of AAC in the Limelight Juried Show.

The Tourists

This is Mark, my husband on the right, and his close friend , Ron. Bonnie, Ron’s wife, and I are probably somewhere shopping!

This painting is of a   familiar scene whenever we travel together. Sitting in New Zealand, Ron is plotting our course and Mark is looking bored.

* This painting is not for sale.

A Rose is a Rose

A garden in Australia was the inspiration for this painting. The roses just went on and on…

Roots on the Trail

During our hiking in Nova Scotia we complained about the roots on the trail that made it difficult to walk. I snapped some photos and came home to paint this scene. The backlit foreground shows the sunlight peaking through the woods.

By The Bay

The Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia, Canada has the highest tides in N. America.  As we traveled along The Cabot Trail the scenery was just breathtaking. This painting depicts one of those  awesome views.  This painting has been in two juried shows.
